Bhutan bird watching tour

If you are a bird lover, Bhutan is of one of the finest places on earth to be in. Over 670 species of birds have been recorded. Sixteen species are endangered worldwide. This are white belly heron, pallas fish eagle, Blyth’s King Fisher, Satyr Tragopan, Grey Bellied Tragopan, Ward’s Trogaon, Blyth’s King Fisher, Rumped Honey Guide, Purple Cochoa, Rufous Throated Wren Babbler, Red Headed Parrot Bill, Chestnut Breasted Partridge, Blyth’s Trogon, Wood Snipe, Dark Rumped Swift, Rufous Necked Hornbill, Grey crowned Prinia and the beautiful Nuthatch all of which breed in Bhutan.

Phobjikha valley in Wangdue Phodrang and Bumdeling in Trashi Yangtse are winter roosting grounds for the endangered Black Necked Crane. This crane breeds in Tibet and fly over the Himalayas during between October and return towards February and March.
